Would a Maine Coon make a good fraternity house cat?

I’m moving into my fraternity house in the next few months and am also considering getting a kitten, preferably a Maine Coon. My family has 4 cats back home so I know what it takes to own one. There is already another cat living at the house who is happy, healthy, extremely outgoing and well adapted, however I want to know if I should be concerned with the size of a Maine Coon. Note that I will be living in a slightly larger than dorm sized room, however the cat would have free reign of the house, which is clean, 3 stories tall and houses 40-50 other brothers available to give an animal attention.

you can’t possibly patrol that many people, how do you know someone won’t be cruel to it or allergic? Not a good idea!
